In Unit 6, I learned how databases organize and manage information. I learned the difference between fields, records, queries, and database management systems (DBMS). I also explored how data is transformed into information, knowledge, and wisdom to support better decision-making. Databases are used every day in businesses, healthcare, education, and many other industries.
I learned more about what a database is
I learned the difference between a field and a record
I learned more about how queries retrieve information
and also what a DBMS does
I had a basic understanding of databases but didn't know how they were organized. Learning about fields, records, and queries helped me understand how information is stored and retrieved. I can see how these concepts apply to healthcare databases and electronic health records.
