Unit 4
Cybersecurity Awareness Training
Cybersecurity Awareness Training
This page documents my successful completion of CCBC's Cybersecurity Awareness Training. The training introduced common cybersecurity threats and taught practical ways to protect personal and organizational information. After completing every training module and assessment, I earned the CCBC Certificate of Completion.
Doing the cybersecurity training helped me to understand how things that we do everyday can expose or safeguard our sensitive information to threats on the internet. I learned that encryption helps us to keep data secure if a device is lost or stolen. Also, installing software updates promptly fixes security risks helps us to further protect our information from hackers and cyber thieves. The training also said, with emphasis, that using strong passwords for mobile hotspots, avoiding connection automatically public Wi-Fi networks that we are not familiar with, and also that reviewing app permissions can reduce the risk of theft and financial loss. These lessons reminded me of how important good cybersecurity practices are at school, home and in the workplace.
Cybersecurity is our responsibility. Even little mistakes, such as clicking a suspicious link or connecting to an unsecured network, can place sensitive information and material at risk. This training has given me added information that I can use to help protect my personal information and any organization that I work for in the future.
