Cebu Technological University (CTU) Cebu Technological University, through its College of Engineering and University Extension Services Office, signed a memorandum of agreement (MOA) with the Division of Lapu-Lapu City and selected senior high schools, Science and Technology Education Center - Senior High (STEC-SHS),ย Mactan Senior High School, and Babag Senior High School 303172 Babag National High SchoolโSenior High School (BNHS-SHS), on July 15, 2026, to launch โ๐ป๐ฌ๐ช๐ฏ-๐ป๐ถ๐ฒ, ๐ฐ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ ๐ฌ๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐ฒ๐โ ๐๐๐ โ๐น๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐ฒ๐, ๐จ๐๐๐๐ ๐ฒ๐ ๐ท๐๐๐ ๐๐ ๐ฒ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐,โ STEM boot camps focused on robotics, the Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence (AI), and research development for educators.
The agreement was formalized by CTU Officer-in-Charge University President Dr. Jonita V. Literatus and Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Marilyn S. Andales, CESO V, together with Education Program Supervisor in Science Mrs. Jennifer S. Mirasol and participating assistant school principals Mrs. Audrey R. Masbang of STEC-SHS, Dr. Vonn Clyde C. Nuรฑez of Mactan Senior High School, and Mr. Nickjon C. Babatuon of BNHS-SHS.
Through the partnership, STEM faculty members will undergo hands-on, project-based training in emerging technologies and research development based on CTU's ongoing General Appropriations Act (GAA)-funded initiatives.
The program is anchored on CTU's PAGLAUM University Extension Framework, which translates research into practical classroom applications through innovation challenges and collaborative workshops.

Mactan National High School Senior High School captured two championship titles and several top finishes during the City Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) Public Schools Rescue Olympics 2026 held on July 18 to 19 at Look National High School.
The school emerged as champion in the Fire Extinguishment and First Aid Relay events, placed second in the Poster Making Contest, finished fourth in the Quiz Bee, and secured fifth place in the Rescue Rush, making it one of the top-performing participating schools in the citywide competition.
The school's strong performance highlighted the students' competence in disaster preparedness, emergency response, and teamwork, which are essential components of disaster risk reduction education.
School DRRR Coordinator Mr. Elnar O. Pagao and Assistant Coordinator Jhen Redeem Dignos led the training and preparation of the delegation, whose achievements reflected Mactan National High School Senior High School's continuing commitment to developing resilient, safety-conscious, and disaster-ready learners.
Out of 147, 437 UPCAT 2026 applicants, two of Mactanistas passed and five are Waitlisted.
Zymhel Cris Largo, BS Mathematics and Kzsa Mae Salo, BA Communication successfully passed the renowned National Examination for College which was administered by University of the Philippines last 2025.
The school administration is proud to know that there are passers in the effort of the school intensifyingย first time college exits through PROJECT ASCEND.
"This result is a good start! A starting line to know where we go forward. Its our first time and we will improve our academic program to help our students to land good college environment like UP," Dr. Nunez, school principal, said.
This school year, the school introduced PROJECT ASCEND to aid college application, review activities and assessment material support to help them pass and get college opportunities and scholarships like UP.
Mactanistas secured a remarkable double achievement today as they clinched back-to-back bronze finishes in two prestigious competitions held in different venues. Demonstrating excellence and determination, the team earned 3rd place in the Regional Festival of Talent (RFOT) in Dalaguete, Cebu, with outstanding performances from Bj Brielle R. Aying and Rhean F. Igot under the guidance of Coach Lualhati S. Gentapan. Their achievement highlights the schoolโs continued commitment to honing student talents across diverse fields.
Simultaneously, another group of Mactanistas brought pride to the school by also placing 3rd in the UP Inter High School Quizbowl held at UP Cebu. The team, composed of Matt Lorenz A. Pedoche, Jesle Carl R. Saludo, and Keina B. Magsayu, showcased their academic excellence and teamwork, coached by Jhen Louie B. Dignos. These parallel victories underscore the strength and versatility of Mactanistas, proving their ability to excel both in creative and intellectual arenas.
Mactan Senior High School showcased its strength in innovation and technology as it swept three major awards and three minor recognitions during the SWU-IT Summit 2026 held today at the IEC Pavilion in Cebu City. Leading was Team Energysense, which emerged as Champion and dominated the competition by also securing special awards for Best in Pitch Presentation, Best in Pitch Logo, and Best in Pitch Deck. Coached by Engr. Arli Niรฑo T. Antipala, the team which composed of Kzsa Mae C. Salo, Krieshna Venice C. Idulsa, and Matt Lorenz K. Pedoche who demonstrated exceptional creativity, technical expertise, and presentation skills that set them apart from other contenders.
Adding to the schoolโs impressive performance, Team Link Aiders claimed the 1st Runner-Up position under the same coach, with members Aliyah T. Villaraza, Elmar C. Olita, and Ashley A. Avenido delivering a strong and competitive entry. Meanwhile, Team Technova secured 2nd Runner-Up honors, guided by Mr. Jomar Doloriel, with Lherah T. Crosoto, John Renil B. Yepes, and James Josef M. Sabandal completing the roster of winners. These achievements highlight Mactan SHSโs commitment to excellence in IT education and innovation, further solidifying its reputation as a hub for future-ready learners.
