Clayton Riepen is an educator and trombone player residing in Southern Delaware. Born and raised in South Eastern Pennsylvania, Clayton attended West Chester University and earned his Degree in Music Education in 2008, specializing in Bass Trombone Performance. Since then, Clayton has spent his time and effort working to promote the growth of musical arts in Southern Delaware as a 13 year middle school band educator and by serving on the executive board of Sussex County Music Educators’ Association for the past 11 years.
Clayton has played trombone and bass trombone with a wide variety of ensembles and musicians. He has studied both classical and jazz repertoire and has performed most notably at Carnegie Hall, The Kimmel Center, and World Cafe Live in Philadelphia and Wilmington. He has been a part of numerous recording sessions and helped create and arrange a Reggae/Ska album, “When Push Comes to Shove” with the Bullbuckers, voted best band in Delaware in 2010.
Clayton is a father of 2 young children and is married to his beautiful wife, Kayla Riepen. In his spare time, Clayton enjoys spending time outdoors, cooking, and playing with his two black Labradors.
