Dawn Doubler Russo is retired from 32 years of teaching, most recently as Director of Bands at Randolph High School, Randolph, NJ. While at Randolph, she directed the Wind Ensemble and Marching Rams, in addition to small ensembles for various performances and facilitating the RHS Winter Guard. Under her direction, the RHS Wind Ensemble performed at the NAfME Eastern Division Conference in April of 2017. The previous fall RHS Marching Rams performed on The Today Show (2016) and the RHS Wind Ensemble performed the Prelude Concert at the New Jersey Wind Symphony Concert (2016) Additionally, she and the Wind Ensemble presented a New Music Clinic at the NJMEA State Conference (2016). Her ensemble was also selected twice to perform at the Mid-Atlantic Honors Wind Band Festival (February 2015, February 2017). Her Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Winds groups were both been selected to play at the NJ State Gala Concert for several years.
Mrs. Russo is a past conductor of the Region I Symphonic Band, North Jersey Area Symphonic Band and the 9th Grade Jr. Region Band. She has also presented clinics on Beginning Band at the prestigious Midwest Clinic in Chicago, IL, the MENC (NAfME) Eastern Division Annual Conference, the New Jersey Music Educators Association Annual Conference and local universities. As a saxophonist Mrs. Russo has been a clinician for many saxophone and low reed sectionals for Region Bands, Region Orchestras, North Jersey Area Bands and local high schools. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Western Illinois University and her Master of Education degree from William Paterson University. She completed additional graduate work in conducting and music education.
Dawn and her husband, Mike, are loving living in Delaware with their dog, Peanut.
