BloodDrunk is an arcade-style rail shooter made for VR systems.
The player's goal is to wipe out each wave of enemies as quickly as possible, whilst avoiding damage and sustaining their blood meter by scoring kills. Guns do not reload; instead, the player must repeatedly grab airborne weapons from dead enemies.
This project was created by myself and a hybrid team of both Staffs students and developers from across Europe in the summer of 2024.
Initially, I worked as a systems designer, refining the core gameplay loop and balancing the various weapons available to the player.
As development progressed, I stepped in as a UI designer, implementing various diegetic widgets. These included the player's health and special gauges, ammo icons, warning signs, and decals for tutorialisation later on.
