Photographing with glass base Mindat - a conversation regarding using glass as a base.
Rhett Peterson responded to "How to take UV photos that look normal?" He said:
- Spotlight lighting is difficult to work with. You may have to hold your flashlight much further away, or use a flood style light.
- Make sure your background is far away from the specimen, or is at least blacked out and non-fluorescent.
- If using a camera, add a UV filter in front of the lens. If using your phone, put a piece of OP3 Clear Acrylic in front of the lens. You can get a small sample piece of it here: https://www.tapplastics.com/.../acrylic_sheets_op3_uv.../512
I also try to adjust the color temperature closer to like 8000K when shooting LW.
