A former teacher and multiple competition winner, he’s just as happy throwing down on complex tracks with seasoned dancers as he is creating a great connection with someone brand new. Expect Blues and Blues-inspired music with rich rhythms and textures that make musicality irresistible.

Alex has been part of the Modern Jive, Blues, and West Coast Swing scene for over 20 years, bringing a deep love of musicality and connection to every set he plays.
His focus is WCS, weaving together smooth contemporary tracks, soulful blues, and irresistible grooves that keep dancers inspired.
Alex has been demoing with Dawn at WCS workshops of late and brings thoughtfulness and well-founded advice to our dancers.

Our newest Fusion Freestyle brings together the soulful depth of Blues, the playful groove of West Coast Swing, and the fiery intensity of Tango—all woven into an open-format dance experience.
Whether you love smooth improvisation, musical storytelling, or bold partner dynamics, this evening invites you to explore the edges of each style and discover how beautifully they blend.
Our Guest DJs will set the floor alive with an eclectic mix—sultry blues, funky WCS tracks, dramatic tango beats, and cross-genre surprises designed to keep you inspired and moving all night long.
Come ready to:
• Dance your style—or mix them all into something new.
• Connect with partners across genres and backgrounds.
• Celebrate creativity, community, and the joy of fusion.
We supply complimentary hot drinks, squash, and water but you are welcome to bring your own, provided you recycle empty containers in the bins provided or take them home with you please.

The Engine Shed can be easily reached from the Wetherby Racecourse Road driving from the north or from the A168 bypass. It is just a few minutes off the A1.
