We look forward to welcoming you for an afternoon of learning, connection, and dancing.

The aim is to have a balance of leads and follows and to encourage people to book as a pair, though this is not a requirement.

The sessions will cover the elements of the dance that you will need to master. It will be fashioned specifically at those who book, with the intention of drilling our fundamentals, practice time, and thinking about the things we can work on to improve our dance. We will then move up a level, introducing characteristics, moves and styling intended to jazz up the impression you make on the dance floor.

At the same time, beginners will work on their basic moves, with guidance on exercises to do at home to improve skills and perfect what you have learnt. We will focus on maintaining a connection between partners through tension and compression, allowing for dynamic and fluid movements.

Workshop with Chloe Emma - November 2025

Chloe Emma joined us in November. Chloe competes in West Coast Swing competitions all over the world and now lives in Dorset but some of you may remember her when she lived in North Yorkshire. She has worked her way up the ranks in West Coast Swing and really shines on the dance floor. Join us to learn some of her flair and style as well as some groovy moves.

Trained under Robert Cordoba and Robert Royston

Dance instructor Dawn has had many years of experience dancing West Coast Swing. She is GPDIA qualified to teach West Coast Swing by American choreographer, Swing dance champ and Hall of Famer Robert Cordoba (image left). She went on to run regular classes and has taught WCs for 6 years now.

Dawn has also taken part in intensive teacher training session with WCS champ, dance emcee, teacher trainer, and choreographer Robert Royston, the most recent one being in March 2024. She teaches at both beginner and intermediate level.

In addition Dawn has had private tuition from world renowned professional West Coast Swing instructors and All Stars, and takes great joy in dancing West Coast Swing. She is dedicated in her passion to teach others in learning this wonderfully creative style of dance.
