Rhythm and Jive Update!
Well, folks, it seems Mother Nature has taken a shine to messing with our plans. The snow has well and truly put the cat among the pigeons, and the icy roads, frosty pavements, and sub-zero temperatures have us postponing our Rhythm and Jive re-opening party. Instead of getting your groove on this Thursday, you'll need to wait just a smidge longer—until Thursday, 16th January.
But fear not! By then, we’re promised a toasty 10 degrees, which in January is practically swimsuit weather. Dust off those dance shoes and get ready to hit the floor!
A Little Warm-Up Incentive
To make up for this frosty delay, we’re spicing things up with a special offer. Bring along a lead (we’re talking about a human dance partner here, not a dog leash) on the 16th, and you will get free entry for the night. Plus, as a little cherry on top, their next session the following week will also be on the house. Now’s the perfect time to rope in your next-door neighbour, your brother, your brother-in-law, or even that colleague who brags about their “killer moves” at office parties.
What’s in Store?
We’ve got a lively new routine ready to shake off those winter blues, plus our usual beginner class for anyone who’s new to the jive scene. Whether you’re a seasoned twirler or a two-left-footer, there’s something for everyone.
Save the Date: Sunday, 19th January
If you just can’t wait until Thursday to get your jive fix, we’ve got another treat for you! Rhythm and Jive will be teaching a Modern Jive taster class at Masham Town Hall as part of the Beats and Balance charity event. From 1–4pm, you’ll have the chance to dip your toes into yoga, Bollywood dancing, Zumba, and, of course, some smooth Modern Jive. Tickets are just £10, and all proceeds go to a great cause.
So, mark your calendars, stay warm, and start rounding up those leads! We can’t wait to welcome you back with open arms (and maybe a hot cup of tea) on the 16th. Until then, keep practicing those moves in the living room—pets make surprisingly patient dance partners.
