The introduction to Roland and Genevieve, it was always intended to be a love story. Even now with the more modern stories I have done and all that, I still try to weave that in to them, love in all its forms and how it can be a power for good and a power for evil as well. You also have the earliest versions of the Refractions here too, aka the alternative timelines depicted like the American Millennium and others. I look back at it and think damn, you I really shouldn't have ever stopped I like this little comic.
Environments were being drawn back then, damn! But yeah thar is a view of the less nice parts of the Floating City. Also Bastille doesn't appear here yet, but he can be seen shooting up a bunch of Rattler Juveniles, very cool, easy pickings for a man that is a big cyborg there. Oh also Blackstar is there too, somewhere.
Now here we get a little more ambitious an actual fight scene between Blackstar and Bastille, while Roland and Genevieve have their emotional moment, although it is not something that is really expanded on, Roland likely had some higher level Cognition Sensitivity then the average joe, but this will be quickly glossed over due to events shortly coming up. Side of that we also get the first appearance of Spite the Rab-bot too, she was a total coward, can't blame her really.
