For Spring 2026, I was enrolled in LIS 6800, Library Data and Assessment. This course examines evaluation and assessment activities in libraries, including assessment practices, data analysis, and tools used for evaluating library operations.
I spent the semester evaluating my progress toward reducing the average age of materials in the library where I work, as well as my progress toward increasing representation for diverse communities.
These have been priorities for me across several years and the emphasis on assessment in LIS 6800 offered an opportunity to evaluate my progress and draw attention to areas that needed further improvement. My studies culminated with creating a poster and recording a brief video that summarized my findings.
