By virtue of being a student in the LIS program, I am a member of SOLIS, which stands for Student Organization of Library and Information Services. I was appointed to serve as its Social Media Coordinator for 2023-2024, for 2024-2025, and for 2025-2026. My interest in One Campus, One Book (a common-reading program that is inactive at UCM) led me to create a SOLIS Book Club that reads and discusses one book each semester.
In other activities: Since Fall 2025, I have served on the student advisory board for SPARK at the UCM Health Center. SPARK stands for Sexual Positivity and Reproductive Knowledge. As an advisory board member, I help to review promotional items or educational materials for design and appearance, their clarity, their use of respectful language, etc.
In late 2025, I was invited by UCM to join Phi Kappa Phi, an academic honor society. I have started getting involved with the chapter at UCM: including helping to plan a spring induction ceremony for new members of Phi Kappa Phi, and researching examples of chapter pages on other universities’ websites with an aim toward boosting the chapter’s presence at UCM.
