Lake Gormire gathering

Lake Gormire Gathering, Sunday 2nd June 2024, 12 noon onwards.

The annual cyclists’ gathering at Thirlby Village Hall (YO7 2DJ 4 miles east of Thirsk) will take place on on Sunday 2nd June 2024  from 12 noon.  

This used to be a Teesside area cycling event, but we have now broadened it to invite local cycling clubs to support the gathering.

The cost will be £8 for a buffet lunch (including a hot drink) - same price as offered last year!! Please bring cash.

If you are planning to attend, an approximate number of people attending (no names, just numbers) will be needed by the Hall committee to avoid any waste (or having too many cyclists turn up).

In addition please let us know at the same time if anyone coming has any dietary requirements for attendees e.g. vegan; nut allergy etc. so the Hall can be notified in advance and prepare food on that basis.  If we aren’t notified this could result in not being able to cater for individual requirements.

Also if you have anyone bringing an electric bike which might need recharging please inform us, so we can let the Hall know as a courtesy in advance. A small donation towards the Hall’s electricity bill would be appreciated.

The Teesside AGM in April 2024 resolved that all club officers, designated Ride Leaders and regular riders (defined as people on the current ICE list) could attend the Lake Gormire gathering and obtain lunch for free.  The cost will come from club funds.
