We welcome riders from any cycling club or group to join on this fantastic day.
Riders have come from Teesside, Whitby, Malton and Ripon in previous years.
The Gormire gathering is a special day, dedicated to cyclists and set in a picturesque village under the imposing ridge of Sutton Bank.
Organisers are asking participants to let them know approximate numbers so please let us know if you can attend (see above). Further details re: catering arrangements can be obtained from the e-mail address above.
The hall is on the right side of Thirlby as you cycle towards the North York Moors, 4 miles east of Thirsk between Felixkirk and Sutton-under-Whitestonecliffe; it is here that the lunch will be served.
Lake Gormire is approximately a mile from the village and is well worth a visit if you haven’t been before. It is said to be bottomless and is thought to be over 20,000 years old, formed by glacial erosion and is steeped in history and has many myths and legends.
