To collect as many adult diapers and care pads as possible, we started planning and carrying out a series of promotion activities from the end of November. Our goal was to catch the attention of teachers and students across the school, help them understand the needs of people in a vegetative state, and encourage them to donate generously.
Stage 1: Poster Design, Display, and Radio Drama Scriptwriting
We worked in groups to design several posters to promote the donation drive for adult diapers and nursing pads. The posters were put up in busy areas on campus so that more teachers and students could learn about the event and understand the needs of people in a vegetative state.
Students also worked in pairs, and each group had to complete a bilingual radio drama within five minutes to promote the donation drive.
Stage 2: Radio Drama Recording and Broadcasting
These photos show us recording the radio drama scripts that we wrote ourselves. Each student took part and did their best to help promote the donation activity and support disadvantaged groups.
After the recordings were finished, we went to the school’s Academic Affairs Office to help play the radio dramas. The radio dramas were played during lunchtime to encourage everyone at school to join and help.
Stage 3: Setting Up the Collection Area
In the pictures, we were setting up the area where the donated diapers were collected and displayed. The area was decorated with a Christmas theme to help everyone feel warmth and kindness.
We also drew a leafless tree and prepared blank leaves beside it. People who donated diapers could write their names on a leaf and stick it onto the tree.
Stage 4: Promotion at the School Assembly
Our school holds a weekly assembly every Wednesday for Grade 7 and Grade 8 students and teachers. During the assembly, the director shares important reminders and school information.
We also used this time to promote our donation activity and explain how students could help people in a vegetative state. At the same time, we connected the activity to environmental protection and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
