Over the years, during the Christmas season, Taoyuan Municipal Chien-Kuo Junior High School has not only held many festive Christmas activities, but also encouraged students to step out of the campus and learn about the needs of society.
Last year, we worked with Genesis Social Welfare Foundation to collect adult diapers and care pads for people in nursing homes who are in a vegetative state. Through this donation drive, the school turned care into real actions by sending supplies to people who truly need help.
By taking part and giving with their own hands, students are not just celebrating Christmas. They are also learning that love and sharing are the true meaning of Christmas.
This is our plan for the "Christmas Fun x Diaper Drive" event :
The first step was publicity. We wrote broadcast scripts and played them during lunchtime through the school announcement system. We also designed posters and put them up around the campus, such as in hallways and common areas, to encourage more students to donate diapers and nursing pads.
The second step was collecting. We set up a diaper donation area in front of the school store so students could easily place the diapers they wanted to donate. During club activity time, we worked together to decorate the donation area and make it more eye-catching. To fit the Christmas Fun theme, we added many Christmas decorations.
The third step was donating. After collecting the diapers, we delivered them to the Genesis Social Welfare Foundation. During the eighth period, with the help of enthusiastic students, we carried and transported the large number of donated diapers to the foundation. We also received a certificate of appreciation.
The fourth step was rewarding. On Christmas Eve, at the end of the school day, we held a candy giveaway to thank students for their support and generous donations. Cheerful Christmas music was played, creating a happy and festive atmosphere. Everyone went home with candy, bringing the event to a warm and joyful ending.
