Check out more of the pages of our website, especially Is Camp Right For Me?. Learn more about what makes Winona special, and make sure our philosophy fits your own and feels like the right place for you. When you choose a camp, it should be a place that will allow you to thrive so you can help campers do the same. Please note that we are also hiring camp staff at our other two locations in Mt. Solon, VA (more rustic/high adventure focused) and Leesburg, VA (very similar to Winona). Most importantly, to be successful at Camp Winona, you need to want to work with kids and love being outdoors! If that doesn’t sound like fun, this is probably not the job for you.
Applying to camp is super easy! All we need from you is a current resume, no cover letter or additional information is required. Start your application on Paycom or any other job site where you saw our posting.
If we feel that your experience is a match for Camp Winona's needs, we will contact you to set up an interview via Zoom. During the interview, you will get answers to any questions you have and we can get to know you. For new leadership staff (those applying for a director-level or manager-level position), you will have a second interview with Girl Scouts Nation's Capital's camping services manager.
After the interview, you may be offered a job at Winona. You will receive a written offer in your email with your contract start and end dates, salary or hourly rate, and next steps to take to start the onboarding process. The onboarding process includes a criminal background check, reference checks, completion of a Paycom application, signing an official offer letter through Paycom, and eventually a health form to be sent to our health staff and a review of our personnel policies.
