What does the term "creative activities" mean?

Creative acitivies is a term used by the Czech Higher Education Act as a legal abbreviation for "scholarly, scientific, research, development, innovation, artistic and other creative activities". In practice, it can be considered synonymous with research.

University regulations use the term in accordance with the national legislation.

Registration of creative activities (research) at Charles University

Quantitative data used in the evaluation is registered within the IS Veda system in accordance with the rules stipulated by the Rector's measure which governs the rules and procedures for registering data on:

• persons who are involved in research activities ("register of authors");

• grants, projects, and other sources of funding, in particular in the area of research activities and innovation ("register of activities"); and

• outputs ("register of outputs").

The Evaluation of Creative Activities module of the IS Veda system then contains research indicators calculated according to the methodology defined by the Strategy for Evaluating Creative Activities at Charles University.
