All of the artwork the Carlsbad Unified Council presented here has been selected by the student's home school as most exemplary of that school's submissions. We are thrilled to showcase it. Click on the "Art Gallery Categories" below to view the submissions.
A group of distinguished professional artists judged the artwork shown herein, and the judges have assigned each an award level. The highest award level is Award of Excellence. The second highest award level is Award of Merit. The third highest level is Honorary Mention. The final level of award is a Participation Award. The award is listed with each piece of art.
We are happy to announce that sixty (60) pieces have moved onto the next level of judging, the PTA Ninth District. These have received either an Award of Excellence or an Award of Merit. The Ninth District collects artwork from throughout participating PTAs in San Diego and Imperial counties, judges those pieces, and the selected few will move onto the State of California level of judging. The winners of the State level move onto the National level.

National PTA's Reflections program provides opportunities for recognition and access to the arts which boost student confidence and success in the arts and in life.
Each year, over 300,000 students in Pre-K through Grade 12 create original works of art in response to a student-selected theme. This 50+ year-old program helps them explore their own thoughts, feelings and ideas, develop artistic literacy, increase confidence and find a love for learning that will help them become more successful in school and in life.
