隨著本賽事邁入第十年，我們愈發了解到要掌握思辨與英語論辯的精髓及提升個人辯論的能力與技巧，僅靠一次備賽與參賽經驗是遠遠不夠的，國外許多高中辯士之所以能有如此突出的研究、組織、思考與表達能力，都是因為他們藉由每年參加辯論營與各種比賽不斷精進自己的能力，導致他們之後有如此驚人的成長與傲人的成績。為了鼓勵本地高中生在求學期間能持續接觸、學習思辨與英語辯論並不斷精進自己思辨及論辯等關鍵性學術能力，本賽事於2023年首度加入「辯士成就獎」選拔，凡參加2024北中南英語辯論比賽區域賽隊伍的辯士皆具角逐資格。 

As the National High School English Debate Tournament has reached its ninth year, we have come to realize a fact that for debaters to hone their skills in critical thinking and English debater, counting on one-time tournament experience is far from enough. The reason that many debaters from abroad are excellent in their research, organizing, critical thinking and communication skills is that they participate in summer debate camps and a good number of debate tournaments throughout their high school years. To encourage local high school students to keep learning and doing English debate as one of the most efficient ways to elevate those key academic abilities, the Tournament organizer decided to introduce “Debater of the Year” award starting from 2023. Debaters who participate in 2024 National High School English Debate Tournament—Regionals sponsored by the Ministry of Education are all eligible to compete for the award. 

有意參選的辯士可針對過去一年至數年於校內外學習、推廣英語辯論和參加英語辯論比賽所付出的努力、所做出的貢獻與所累積的成就進行主客觀的陳述並提供相關證明。主辦單位將依據申請人的論述內容與證明，決定本年度獲獎者。 

Debaters who want to apply for the award can list the efforts they paid, the contributions they made, and/or the accomplishments they had in learning, doing and advocating English debate in local high schools in the past one to several years. The Tournament Organizer will choose the awardees based on the applicant’s descriptions and attached proofs.

凡有意願參選之辯士（或有願意推舉辯士競選的同學或教師），請填寫下頁表格，並於所參加之區域賽結束後七天內將表格與相關證明寄至計畫信箱（ctndebate@gmail.com）。主辦單位將根據申請人在各評選項目上所列之紀錄與證明，給予評分，擇優錄取2024學年度「辯士成就獎」獲獎人。 

Debaters who would like to apply (or other debaters/the coach who would like to nominate your teammate/debater), please fill out the application form on the last page, and send it to the project at ctndebate@gmail.com within 7 days in wake of the regional tournament. The tournament organizer, i.e., the Department of English, National Taiwan Normal University, will then review the applications, verify the proofs, and select coaches to be the recipients of the 2024 “Debater of the Year” Award.

「2024年全國高級中等學校英語辯論比賽—全國賽」舉辦之兩週前，主辦單位臺師大英語系將於「臺灣高中思辨與英語論辯推廣計畫」官網公布獲獎名單，主辦單位亦將行文通知獲獎人就讀學校。獲獎辯士名單與簡介亦將於2024年6月1日全國賽閉幕式時，以簡報形式與在場師生分享，亦竭誠歡迎獲獎辯士親臨全國賽閉幕式現場受獎。

The results will be posted two weeks prior to the 2024 National Tournament on the official website of National High School Critical Thinking and English Debate Promotion Project. An official missive will also be sent to the awardee’s school. A brief introduction, via a slide presentation, of the awardee(s) will be shown to the tournament attendees at the closing ceremony. Awardee(s) are also welcome to personally receive the award certificate at the closing ceremony of the National Tournament on June 1, 2024.
