The Canterbury-Westland Schools' Science and Technology Fair is proudly sponsored by Earth Science New Zealand (formerly NIWA) in association with the Canterbury Science Teachers’ Association, Kiwanis, the Science Award Trust and University of Canterbury.
The Fair has been held in Christchurch for over 30 years, attracting approximately 150 entries each year from Intermediate and Secondary School students throughout the Canterbury and Westland regions. Throughout this time it has grown considerably in size and reputation to become one of the premier Science and Technology events in New Zealand.
The fair is organised by an independent committee consisting of:
Members of Christchurch Kiwanis Clubs.
Secondary school teachers, including members of the Canterbury Science Teachers’ Association
Representatives from University of Canterbury, and other interested people.
We are very proud to be supported by a wide and ever increasing range of sponsors, you can find more details about our sponsors here.
Our judging team draws on the experience of many well qualified judges from research organisations, industry and the education sector who willingly give up their time to encourage the exhibitors to follow their interest in science and technology.
Please contact us if you would like to be involved in judging, or sponsor a prize.
