Unit 1

Overview

 Unit 1 introduces the concept of digital literacy and lays a foundation that will be built upon throughout the semester.

Digital Literacy & Foundations

Hardware and Networking 

• Constitute the physical components (servers, routers, switches, cables) and infrastructure needed to build, connect, and manage computer systems. https://gemini.google.com/app 

The Web and The Cloud 

• The Web (World Wide Web) is an information system of interlinked documents and resources accessed via the internet using browsers. The Cloud is a network of remote servers hosted on the internet that provides on-demand computing services. https://gemini.google.com/app

Digital footprint

• A digital footprint is the trail of data created by your online activity. It includes everything from websites visited and social media posts to online purchases and even the websites you visit without realizing it. Essentially, it's the sum of your digital interactions and the information you leave behind as you navigate the internet.
