In this project, I had to pick a country and showcase its technology advances and issues and share it in a Word Document and a PowerPoint.
My partner and I chose Mexico and Jamaica.Â
An interesting fact I learned about Mexico is that it is the backbone of Manufacturing and industry in North America. Something that I didn't know about Jamaica is that it has the most churches per square mile than any country!
In this project, I got to use the skills I've learned throughout the semester in PowerPoint and Word. I particularly really like using Word formatting because it makes the page extremely easy to read and navigate. My partner and I collaborated by exchanging information and agreeing how to put it on the slides in a way that the audience would read it easily but still grasp the basic information. This project helped me improve my social skills by enabling me to work and cooperate with someone and agree on what needs to be done, as well as taking responsibility for my part.
In this project, I picked a technology that is new and very little is known about it. I had to research and create a presentation of it. Including advantages, disadvantages and the latest updates of it.
I chose 4D printing in Civil Engineering. I chose this topic because I am a Civil Engineering major and this was something I had not heard of so it intrigued me very much.
An interesting thing I learned through this project was that this technology uses bacteria to "heal" cracks in concrete, increasing its lifespan!
Here is an artifact of my presentation -->
