My project focuses on vertical farming as an emerging technology in agriculture. Vertical farming is a modern method of growing crops in stacked indoor layers using controlled environments. It uses technologies such as LED lighting, hydroponics, and automation to improve food production. As the global population grows and farmland becomes more limited, vertical farming is becoming an important solution for sustainable food production.
I chose vertical farming because I was interested in how technology can help solve real-world problems like food shortages and environmental sustainability. I also liked that it connects technology with agriculture and can be used in cities where traditional farming is not possible. It stood out to me as a practical and innovative solution for the future.
One interesting thing I learned is that vertical farming can reduce water usage significantly compared to traditional farming methods. This makes it more sustainable and efficient, especially in areas where resources like water and land are limited.
