For this activity, I explored my digital footprint by searching for myself online and analyzing the results.
What I Did
Searched my name using Google to see what information appears online.
Looked through different search results to see if any personal information was connected to me.
Used search tools to narrow down results and better understand how search engines organize information.
Explored websites and results that appeared to see what kind of digital presence exists.
What I Found
I did not find much personal information connected directly to my name.
I did not see general information such as my age, relatives, or personal details.
Most results were not connected to me personally.
This showed me that my online presence is currently very limited.
What I Learned
Search engines like Google have advanced search tools that allow users to narrow results.
A person’s digital footprint can include things like:
social media accounts
photos
websites
Even small pieces of information online can contribute to someone’s digital identity.
For this assignment, I looked at the specifications of my MacBook to learn more about the hardware and software it uses.
My computer’s processor is Intel Core i5
My MacBook has 8 GB of RAM, which helps the system run multiple applications smoothly at the same time.
The hard drive on my computer has a total capacity of 256 GB, and currently about 120 GB of storage space is available
My computer is running the macOS operating system. One interesting thing I discovered is that the graphics processing is built into the Apple M1 chip, which helps improve performance and efficiency.
I was surprised to see how much information is available about the computer just by checking the system settings. It helped me better understand how my computer works.
