This project explores how social media affects daily life and society. I reviewed my social media habits, analyzed research statistics, and reflected on how social media influences behavior and screen time.
After taking the quiz my results showed that I am fairly reliant on social media but not extremely addicted. The results also explained that people spend several hours each day on their phones, especially on social media apps. This made me realize how often I check my phone without noticing. It also made me think about reducing my screen time and being more aware of my habits.
This statistic shows which social media platforms are most popular among U.S. adults. YouTube and Facebook remain the most widely used platforms, while TikTok and Instagram have grown significantly over time. I found this interesting because it shows how quickly social media trends change. It also shows how more people are using multiple platforms instead of just one.
Everyone is always seen with their phone in their hand scrolling or texting. Social media has become a big part of daily life and can affect mental health both positively and negatively. It allows people to connect, share experiences, and stay informed, but it can also become a distraction if not used carefully. With everything we can do on social media alone, it is easy to lose track of time and spend too much of the day online. Overall, if social media is used correctly and in moderation, it can be a positive tool, but it is important not to let it control your time or habits.
Through this project, I learned how much time people spend on social media each day. I also became more aware of my own screen time habits. The statistics helped me understand how social media continues to grow and influence society. This project made me think about using social media more intentionally.
