Technology and Digital Divide: India vs Greece
For this project, my partner and I researched how technology is used in different countries and how the digital divide affects access to technology. I focused on India, while my partner researched Greece. We looked at population, demographics, technology usage, internet access, and how social and economic differences impact digital access. Our goal was to compare similarities and differences between both countries and understand how technology affects daily life.
India & Greece
One interesting fact I learned is that India has over 886 million active internet users in 2025, showing how quickly technology is growing. However, even with this rapid growth, there is still a major digital divide between urban and rural areas, especially when it comes to internet access and digital resources.
This project helped me understand how technology growth does not always mean equal access for everyone. I learned that in India, many people rely on smartphones and mobile internet, but rural areas still face challenges with infrastructure and access. Working with my partner also helped me improve communication and organization because we had to divide responsibilities and keep our presentation consistent. Overall, I learned how technology, education, and income all connect to the digital divide.
