This page includes a brief description of two countries that a classmate and I researched. Our group's global project instructed us to research different topics in our chosen countries and compare their differences and similarities.
I chose to research Mexico. One interesting fact that I learned about Mexico was the severity of the injustice within its legal system. Prior to researching Mexico, I assumed that its legal system was just, with only minor errors in its system. But, after researching a little more, I learned that the injustice within its legal system is a major problem, and little effort has been taken to correct this problem. My partner chose to research Nigeria. One interesting fact that I learned about Nigeria was its official language. Before this project, I assumed that their official language was French, but after working with my partner, I learned that their official language was English. Lessons Learned
After completing this project, I realized that group projects work more efficiently when there is constant communication. My partner and I communicated well, which is why I believe we were able to successfully complete this project. Our method of communicating was through our school email and a shared PowerPoint. While we input our data, I was able to get a picture of how much larger Nigeria's population was compared to Mexico's. I have also seen the major difference in life expectancy between the two countries, with Mexico's dramatically higher than Nigeria's, broadening my understanding of the health difficulties the people of Nigeria face. Overall, this project was very informative and helped in developing my overall knowledge of the two countries.
