Dulcimer

Lynn Noel plays treble and bass mountain dulcimer and épinette des Vosges. She got her first dulcimer at the New England Folk Festival (NEFFA) while in high school in the 1970s, and has toured internationally introducing audiences to her "canoe with strings." Lynn enjoys arranging French-Canadian and Scandinavian music for dulcimer, as well as expanding the dulcimer's traditional Anglo-American repertoire into ballads of Newfoundland, Scotland, and original songs and storytelling. She plays Celtic rhythm dulcimer with the Gloucester Hornpipe and Clog Society and duo with hammer dulcimer player Ken Mattsson. Lynn's spirited style and variety of material engage audiences and aspiring dulcimer players alike.
