The Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) is an international human rights treaty, The United Nations General Assembly adopted the convention and opened it for signature on November 20, 1989, and It came into force on September 2, 1990.
It is the most comprehensive legal instrument for safeguarding and promoting children's rights, covering their civil, political, economic, social, health, and cultural rights. The Convention on the Rights of the Child has been ratified by almost every country in the world, showcasing a global commitment to the well-being of children.
Article 2 (Non-discrimination):
States Parties shall respect and ensure the rights outlined in the present Convention to each child within their jurisdiction without discrimination of any kind, irrespective of the child's or his or her parent's or legal guardian's race, color, sex, language, religion, political or other opinion, national, ethnic or social origin, property, disability, birth or other status.
States Parties shall take all appropriate measures to ensure that the child is protected against discrimination or punishment based on the status, activities, expressed opinions, or beliefs of the child's parents, legal guardians, or family members.
Article 3 (Best interests of the child):
In all actions concerning children, whether undertaken by public or private social welfare institutions, courts of law, administrative authorities, or legislative bodies, the child's best interests shall be a primary consideration.
States Parties undertake to ensure the child such protection and care as is necessary for his or her well-being, taking into account the rights and duties of his or her parents, legal guardians, or other individuals legally responsible for him or her, and, to this end, shall take all appropriate legislative and administrative measures.
States Parties shall ensure that the institutions, services, and facilities responsible for the care or protection of children conform with the standards established by competent authorities, particularly in the areas of safety and health, the number and suitability of their staff, and competent supervision.
La Convención sobre los Derechos del Niño (CDN) es un tratado internacional de derechos humanos ,La Asamblea General de las Naciones Unidas adoptó la convención y la abrió para firma el 20 de noviembre de 1989, y entró en vigor el 2 de septiembre de 1990.
Es el instrumento legal más completo para la protección y promoción de los derechos de los niños, abarcando sus derechos civiles, políticos, económicos, sociales, de salud y culturales. La Convención sobre los Derechos del Niño ha sido ratificada por casi todos los países del mundo, lo que demuestra un compromiso global con el bienestar de los niños.
Artículos clave de la Convención sobre los Derechos del Niño
Artículo 2 (No discriminación):
Los Estados Partes respetarán y garantizarán los derechos enunciados en la presente Convención a cada niño dentro de su jurisdicción sin discriminación alguna, independientemente de la raza, color, sexo, idioma, religión, opiniones políticas o de otra índole, origen nacional, étnico o social, posición económica, discapacidad, nacimiento u otra condición del niño o de sus padres o tutores legales.

Artículo 3 (Interés superior del menor):
En todas las acciones concernientes a los niños, ya sea llevadas a cabo por instituciones públicas o privadas de bienestar social, tribunales de justicia, autoridades administrativas o cuerpos legislativos, el interés superior del menor será una consideración primordial.
Los Estados Partes se comprometen a asegurar al menor la protección y el cuidado necesarios para su bienestar, teniendo en cuenta los derechos y deberes de sus padres, tutores legales u otras personas legalmente responsables de el menor, y, a tal fin, tomarán todas las medidas legislativas y administrativas adecuadas.
Los Estados Partes asegurarán que las instituciones, servicios e instalaciones responsables del cuidado o la protección de los niños se ajusten a las normas establecidas por las autoridades competentes, particularmente en las áreas de seguridad, salud, número y adecuación del personal, así como la supervisión competente.

Artículo 3 Responsabilidad estatal en materia de protección integral de la niñez y la adolescencia. El Estado tiene la responsabilidad de garantizar la realización efectiva de los derechos humanos de la niñez y la adolescencia. Para cumplir con esta obligación, debe como mínimo:
Asignar los recursos necesarios.
Formular políticas y asegurar la ejecución de programas y acciones de apoyo a las familias. para que estas asuman adecuadamente sus responsabilidades y obligaciones ante los niños, niñas y adolescentes.
Regular las modalidades de participación directa y activa de las organizaciones no gubernamentales en la planificación y ejecución de las políticas públicas de protección integral de la niñez y la adolescencia.
Artículo 5 Obligación ciudadana de denunciar. Todas las personas tienen el deber y la obligación de comunicar, por cualquier medio, la amenaza o violación de los derechos de niños, niñas o adolescentes y de suministrar a las autoridades competentes , datos que permitan ubicarlos.
