דו”ח חדש של האו”ם קובע כי אוכלוסיית העולם תחל להצטמצם ב-2080. אוכלוסיית ישראל לעומת זאת תמשיך לגדול גם לאחר סיום המאה

העולם שלנו הולך ומתמלא, עם נתוני אוכלוסין שממשיכים לשבור שיאים חדשים וצפיפות שהולכת וגדלה בכל פינה. רק לפני שנתיים, בנובמבר 2022, חצתה אוכלוסיית העולם את רף 8 מיליארד בני האדם. אך כעת נדמה כי יש אור בקצה המנהרה. ביולי 2024, יצא לאור דו”ח האוכלוסין החדש של האו”ם.

הדו”ח מציג את התחזיות הדמוגרפיות העדכניות ביותר של הארגון, ומכיל בתוכו כמה נקודות מעוררות תקווה בנוגע לעתיד האנושות. במרכזו עומדת ההערכה כי אוכלוסיית העולם, העומדת כיום על 8.2 מיליארד בני אדם, תגיע לשיאה סביב שנת 2080, אז תעמוד על 10.3 מיליארד בני אדם. החדשות הטובות הן שהחל מהשנה הזו אוכלוסיית העולם תחל להצטמצם, כאשר התחזית ל-2100 אף נמוכה יותר מזו שהוצגה בדו”ח שיצא לפני עשור, ותעמוד על 10.2 מיליארד בני אדם (כ-700 מיליון פחות ממה שהיה צפוי לפני עשור).

A new UN report states that the world population will begin to decline by 2080. In contrast, Israel's population will continue to grow even after the century ends.  

Our world is becoming increasingly crowded, with population data continuously breaking new records and density rising in every corner. Just two years ago, in November 2022, the global population exceeded 8 billion people. However, it now seems that there is light at the end of the tunnel. In July 2024, the new UN population report was published.  

The report presents the most up-to-date demographic forecasts from the organization and contains several hopeful points regarding the future of humanity. At its core is the estimate that the world population, currently at 8.2 billion people, will peak around 2080, reaching 10.3 billion. The good news is that starting from that year, the world population will begin to decline, with the forecast for 2100 even lower than what was presented in the report released a decade ago, standing at 10.2 billion (about 700 million fewer than was expected a decade ago).

In July 2024, the UN's new population report was published.

The report presents the organization's most recent demographic projections, and contains some hopeful points about the future of humanity. At its center is the estimate that the world's population, which currently stands at 8.2 billion people, will reach its peak around 2080, at which time it will stand at 10.3 billion people. The good news is that starting this year, the world's population will begin to decline, with the forecast for2100 even lower than that presented in the report released a decade ago, and will stand at 10.2 billion people (about700 million less than expected a decade ago)

Un nuevo informe de la ONU establece que la población mundial comenzará a disminuir en 2080. Sin embargo, la población de Israel continuará creciendo incluso después del final del siglo.

Nuestro mundo se está llenando, con cifras de población que continúan rompiendo récords nuevos y una densidad que aumenta en cada rincón. Apenas hace dos años, en noviembre de 2022, la población mundial superó el umbral de los 8 mil millones de personas. Sin embargo, ahora parece que hay luz al final del túnel. En julio de 2024, se publicó el nuevo informe de población de la ONU.

El informe presenta las proyecciones demográficas más actualizadas de la organización y contiene algunos puntos alentadores sobre el futuro de la humanidad. En su centro se encuentra la estimación de que la población mundial, que actualmente se sitúa en 8.2 mil millones de personas, alcanzará su punto máximo alrededor del año 2080, cuando se espera que sea de 10.3 mil millones de personas. La buena noticia es que a partir de este año, la población mundial comenzará a disminuir, con una proyección para 2100 que es incluso más baja que la presentada en el informe de hace una década, y se fijará en 10.2 mil millones de personas (aproximadamente 700 millones menos de lo que se esperaba hace una década).

El informe presenta las proyecciones demográficas más recientes de la organización y contiene algunos puntos esperanzadores sobre el futuro de la humanidad. En su centro se encuentra la estimación de que la población mundial, que actualmente asciende a 8.200 millones de personas, alcanzará su punto máximo alrededor de 2080, momento en el que se situará en 10.300 millones de personas. La buena noticia es que a partir de este año, la población mundial comenzará a disminuir, con un pronóstico para2100 aún más bajo que el presentado en el informe publicado hace una década, y se situará en 10.200 millones de personas (unos700 millones menos de lo esperado hace una década)
