Tammy Winslow is one of two Science Instructional Specialists at Crowley’s Ridge Educational Service Cooperative (CRESC)  in Harrisburg, AR. Tammy has worked at CRESC since June 2007 where she specializes in developing/providing professional learning experiences and supporting K-12 educators from 22 districts in the areas of STEM/Science Education, Classroom Management, TESS, and SIM.

Starting June 2007, she has focused on grades K-12 STEM/Science education. However, with the addition of another science specialist at CRESC in 2019, Tammy now is committed to providing support for grades K-6.

Tammy holds a Master of Science in Education degree: Curriculum & Instruction / Educational Leadership; Graduate hours toward a Master in Environmental Science Education degree from Texas A&M Corpus Christi and a Bachelor of Science in Education - Elementary degree from Arkansas State University, Jonesboro, AR.   Her teaching experience has been in 1st, 2nd, 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th-grade science, social studies, reading, and writing.

Tammy specializes in developing professional learning opportunities and supporting educators in the area of STEM and Science education. She is excited to share science experiences and professional development with elementary STEM/science teachers:

In 1993, Tammy began her teaching career in Harrisburg, AR teaching 1st grade for 2 years.  Then, she moved to Texas and taught 5th and 6th-grade science/social studies/writing at Rockport Intermediate School for 5 years.  During her time in Texas, she worked on site-based committees, wrote curriculum and assessments, and developed technology skills. Rockport Intermediate used a looping system and family (pod) approach as an organization system.  From Texas, she returned to Arkansas and taught 1 year 7th/ 8th grade basic reading and 6 years of 5th-grade science in Blytheville, AR.  She is now on 30th year in education and her 17th year as a science specialist at CRESC.

Tammy promotes the idea that “Science is NOT just a Content.  It is an EXPERIENCE!

On a personal note, Tammy loves to travel with her 2 daughters, 2 sons in-love, 4 grandbugs (children), and 2 grandbugs-in-love

Making memories is what our family is about.  When someone makes a goof, someone will say, “We just made a memory” because we seldom remember when something goes right, but when it goes wrong, no one forgets!
