Laurel cloak for Leyli's elevation to the Order of the Laurel. I used a deep blue wool/silk/linen blend for the outside, and an apple green wool/silk/linen for the lining. The leaves are all reclaimed wools, many from scraps leftover from projects for our mutual friends.
One of the large branches uses neutrals, to refer to Leyli's work in metal, clay, leather, and wood, while the other one is colorful to reference her music, embroidery, costuming, glazing, etc. She is one of the most well rounded Laurels I know, and demonstrates a flexibility in thought and learning I find truly admirable.
The stems are embroidered in black silk.
