Kolfinna opted to make a nine panel scroll for Bran's Laurel, since he teaches and works in such a wide variety of styles from around the world and through time. I wrote the text, and handed over some books to her so she could peruse images for the panels.
At some point, we were discussing a way to include the Uffington Horse, which has great significance to Bran, and I volunteered to make that panel. Kolfinna laid out the design, and I transerred it to heavy fulled green wool and embroidered the image and text. The fabric is a scrap from a coat I made for Alherin, and the stitching is in silver solk from Eowyn's line.
I played with the idea of marking breaks between words in black, hated that, and ribbed those stitches back out.
