Professor Mark Trotter is a leads the Precision Livestock Management at Central Queensland University. Mark's research is focussed on improving the performance, efficiency, and sustainability of livestock grazing systems through data-driven technologies.
With a background grounded in real-world agriculture, Mark grew up on a dairy farm on the mid-north coast of New South Wales of Australia and has hands-on experience across both dairy and beef systems. This practical foundation underpins his research approach, which consistently prioritises outcomes that are not just innovative, but usable and economically relevant for producers.
Mark completed both his Bachelor of Rural Science (Honours) and PhD at the University of New England. His contributions to agricultural innovation have been recognised through several awards, including a Fulbright Future Scholarship (2019), supporting research collaborations with New Mexico State University and The Ohio State University.
