Dr. Jameson "Jamie" Brennan is an Assistant Professor and Extension Livestock Grazing Specialist with South Dakota State University, where he works at the forefront of rangeland research, technology adoption, and producer engagement.
Jamie's research leverages GPS tracking, accelerometers, virtual fencing systems, and machine learning to generate and interpret large-scale behavioral datasets. He is widely recognised for his expertise in big-data analytics, particularly in agricultural contexts. Jamie actively contributes to the research community by developing and sharing analytical workflows in both Python and R, enabling other researchers to work more effectively with high-volume, high-resolution livestock datasets.
Beyond research, Jamie plays a significant role in extension and capacity building. He has led the development of multiple workshops and training programs that bring together scientists, students, and land managers to accelerate the adoption of precision technologies in grazing systems.
