Dr. Anita Chang is a Senior Postdoctoral Research Fellow with the Precision Livestock Management team at Central Queensland University.
Her doctoral research focussed on the autonomous monitoring of calving and calf loss using on-animal sensor systems, contributing to the development of commercial technologies to improve productivity and animal welfare. Anita specialises in advanced data analytics, machine learning, and livestock behavior, with a focus on applying precision technologies to real-world grazing environments. Her research spans calving, the cow-calf relationship, reproductive behavior, and heat stress.
Anita prides herself on close partnerships with extension officers, producers, and technology developers, embedding industry engagement into her research to ensure solutions are practical, applicable, and adopted on-farm.
She holds a Bachelor of Animal and Veterinary Bioscience (Hons I) from The University of Sydney and a PhD in Precision Livestock Management from Central Queensland University.
