Wear Red Day Photo Frame

Friday, February 2nd is National Wear Red Day, a day to wear red to raise awareness about heart disease and heart disease in women.

The VDH Comms Team and the OFHS Division of Prevention and Health Promotion collaborated to create a digital photo frame where you can upload your picture behind it. This is a fun way to showcase your group picture as a Local Health Department, Office, or Unit. The submitted photos will be shared on the VDH Intranet home page.

💡 If you took photos, add the frame to your photos and share on social media and in newsletters! Also, email the photos to HeartDisease@vdh.virginia.gov to be shared on the VDH Intranet.

Writing for Digital Spaces

Plain Language Glossary

Health literacy, including using plain language, is essential for people to be able to take control and manage their own health. Plain language makes it easier to understand and use health information.

Because it uses short sentences and everyday words, a plain-language document can improve the way we communicate and allows access to information for more people. It is important in public health to use plain language as often as possible.
