Origami is historically a static form or art starting from a square of paper.
My goal in creating puppets from origami was to help make stories come alive and help the listeners to keep their hands busy so they could focus more. The thought of teaching how to make puppets and use story telling to aid with how to make the puppets was an easy step in the same direction and seemed to just be the precursor to aiding others to enjoy puppet making and story telling. Please check out my Facebook Page dealing with Puppet Origami Story Telling (POST) to see how to make Jonah and the GAAT Fish.
Helping others to enjoy origami also aids in an exploration in art, paper engineering, geometry, and much more.
Paper comes in standard sizes and with some ingenuity, we can find other ways to make paper and purchase larger archival pieces to work with even larger creations to make it more cost effective for students, families, and others.
I will try to create a cache of videos in the future to share creating Jonah and the GAAT Fish but for now, look at Facebook for my postings.
