What are learning styles?
If you are
Learning is not just for the first time.
Rehearsing for a test or practicing with homework is supposed to help you to become more skilled and proficient in mastering the subject matter.
In order to learn well, like playing piano it may take practice so tactile and auditory skills along with visually are needed to replay great pieces.
Some skills such as oratory are a combination of learning and coping styles as well. We use our styles that are an extension of ourselves and they also can be improved upon through time and practice.
Athletes rehearse running and winning to get the peak performance at meets. Similarly, we can practice what brings about success.
We can test your learning styles and take advantage of your interests to present session information to aid you from mystery of a subject, gaining the facts of it, connecting the dots of understanding, and take you to wise application of the material of a subject.
We also teach/mentor/tutor our students to focus, try to learn other styles, plan and schedule their time wisely so that tests, homework, finals, and reports can be sent as reminders on Google calendar to keep on track. We train with a Gmail account how to store notes in colorful ways to aid the visual learning when helpful.
In third grade I memorized the multiplication tables up to 25 and then my brothers handed me a "Reviewing Trigonometry" book the same year. Some information can be memorized. Books and people can help us to stay on track and become proficient and be able to master it for future uses.
When I teach Math to students, I ask them to send assignments, tests, and practice tests and what their instructor expects them to know such as the class syllabus, assignment due dates, test dates, midterm and final dates and when they will be taking the PSAT, SAT, ACT or GRE. We hope to aid them to prepare for academics.
If the student is thinking of going into the Military, we also help with the GED, ASVAB, and other tests as well. We help students to have fun learning as well as help them to learn with other styles as well.
I focus on Math, Science, Computer Software, Linguistics, Speech, Chess, Philosophy, Technology and more whereas my wife handle all other subjects and we do overlap.
