Formative Assessments

Formative assessments are the activities that allow me as an instructor to gauge the students' understanding of the materials. I use these in the form of active learning activities in the classroom. Below are some images from classes and examples of what I have used in the classroom that have proven successful.

Summative Assessments

Summative assessments are the culmination of a grouping of material from class units that students are tested on to establish their retention and understanding of the materials. These provide a way to understand the student's comprehension of the materials taught over a period of time. The most common assessments in my courses are quizzes, exams or a final presentation.
