A Den Leader coordinates and communicates the location, date, and time of Den meetings; works with Den parents to share the task of planning and leading the Required Adventures and Electives as outlined in the Scout Handbook; coordinates the recognition/awards of their Scouts; attends Pack Leadership meetings.
Each Den Leader will need to fill out an Application, Background Check Form, and complete Youth Protection Training. Den Leader materials are provided by the Pack, along with example schedules from previous years.
If you have reservation with committing to a leadership role in the Pack, please bare the following in mind:
Online Training will be provided.
You will be supported by your fellow Den and Pack Leaders, Den parents, and the BSA.
Perfection is not expected (our Scouts learn more from seeing how we deal with mistakes and failures than from our successes).
Pack and Den leaders work as a Team to keep it simple and fun.
Not that you need additional incentive to volunteer, but it is no secret that legitimate community involvement is a huge resume enhancement... "Cub Scout Pack 674 Den Leader, Committee Chair, or Treasurer" would look great on your resume!!
