As requested, I’m sending you the letter I wrote to YouTube documenting the issue. This is clearly an error—I thought I could outsmart the algorithm, but it looks like it finally got the best of me!

I have plenty of other channels, but this one was my passion project and digital legacy, so this loss really stings. I’d really appreciate your perspective on the situation.

From what I’ve seen, this appears to be a known issue—@TeamYouTube acknowledged it on Twitter back in October 2024. 

Hopefully, they’ll resolve it soon, it's been more than a month now....

ANYWAYS, HERE'S A COPY OF MY LATEST APPEAL LETTER

Dear YouTube Team,

I am urgently requesting a fair and thorough review of my channel, Sunset Guitar🎸, which was recently removed for alleged violations of YouTube’s Spam, Deceptive Practices, and Scams Policy. This decision is unjustified—my content has never engaged in spam, deception, or any harmful activity.

For nearly 20 years, I have been a dedicated YouTube user and a content creator for three years, building a channel that represents my passion for music, sunsets, art, philosophy, science, mental health advocacy, and community engagement. This is not just a collection of videos—it is my digital legacy and my connection to the world.

As a 100% disabled USMC Afghanistan veteran, YouTube has been my lifeline—a source of purpose, healing, and connection. The community I’ve built has given me hope, belonging, and a way to contribute. I have always followed YouTube’s guidelines and never engaged in deceptive practices. If any content was mistakenly flagged, I would be more than willing to correct it—but I was never given that opportunity.

The Devastating Impact of This Decision

The removal of my channel means the loss of:

✔ Over 1,600 videos—years of heartfelt, irreplaceable content.

✔ Private therapy and mental health treatment videos essential for managing my TBI (traumatic brain injury).

✔ 19+ years of watch history, playlists, comments, and subscriptions.

✔ My interactions with other creators, including comments that supported and encouraged smaller music channels.

✔ My upcoming podcast and future creative projects.

✔ My primary source of connection and community support.

For the past three years, I have dedicated myself full-time to this channel, often spending 12+ hours a day crafting high-quality, genuine content. Losing it without clear justification is not just unfair—it is devastating.

A Plea for Fairness and Resolution

I humbly ask for reconsideration and a second chance to address any concerns. If specific content was flagged, I am fully willing to remove or adjust it to comply with YouTube’s guidelines. However, a complete removal without explanation contradicts YouTube’s mission to foster creativity and community.

As someone who is severely disabled, living alone, and without close family, YouTube has been my voice, my support system, and my way of leaving something meaningful behind.

Next Steps & Future Recourse

If this issue is not resolved, I will have no choice but to pursue all available channels, including @TeamYouTube on social media and legal counsel if necessary. I am committed to exhausting every option to recover my work.

I deeply appreciate your time and consideration. I remain hopeful that YouTube, as a platform that values creativity, fairness, and community, will take a second look at my case and restore my channel.
