Removing my channel does not protect the community—it only harms me, a lonely, disabled veteran. You state that these decisions are made thoughtfully to ensure community safety, but in this case, the loss of my channel has been deeply damaging to my life. YouTube has failed to keep me safe as a member of this community.
I absolutely did not intentionally violate any rules intentionally nor have I ever maliciously scammed anyone. That’s why I know this is a mistake. Losing my channel has wreaked havoc on my mental health.
I can provide evidence that YouTube has mistakenly flagged content in the past. As a disabled veteran, I am part of a protected group, and I will continue to escalate my appeal until this issue is resolved. What has been done is a serious injustice. Frankly, Team YouTube’s response has felt cold, callous, and unhelpful.
I respectfully request a thorough review of my account and a clear explanation of what specific violation led to this action—so that, if any mistake was made on my part, I can correct it.

I admit that when i first started creating these channels, i didn't entirely know what I was doing. If there is specific content that
was flagged, I am fully willing to do whatever is necessary to resolve this. i am more than happy to remove or adjust anything to fully comply with all YouTube’s guidelines. i humbly ask for clarity and a second chance.
As someone who is severely disabled, living alone, and without close family, YouTube has been my voice, my support system, and my way of leaving something meaningful behind.
I deeply appreciate your time and consideration. I remain hopeful that YouTube, as a platform that values creativity, fairness, and community, will take a second look at my case and restore my channel.

Subject: Urgent Appeal the removal of My YouTube Channel, @SunsetGuitarist🎸
Date: February 26, 2025 | 15:35
I am urgently requesting a fair and thorough review of my channel, Sunset Guitar🎸, which was recently removed for alleged violations of YouTube’s Spam, Deceptive Practices, and Scams Policy.
Respectfully, this decision is unjustified—my content has never engaged in spam, deception, or any harmful activity.
For nearly 20 years, I have been a dedicated YouTube user and a content creator for three years,
building a channel that represents my passion for music, sunsets, art, philosophy, science,
mental health advocacy, and community engagement.
This is not just a collection of videos—it is my digital legacy and my connection to the world.
As a 100% disabled USMC Afghanistan veteran, YouTube has been my lifeline—a source of purpose, healing, and connection. The community I’ve built has given me hope, belonging, and a way to contribute.
I have always followed YouTube’s guidelines and never engaged in deceptive practices. If any content was mistakenly flagged, I would be more than willing to correct it—but I was never given that opportunity.
The removal of my channel means the loss of:
✔ Over 1,600 videos—years of heartfelt, irreplaceable content.
✔ Private therapy and mental health treatment videos essential for
managing my disabilities. I have serve memory issues from a TBI (traumatic brain injury).
✔ 19+ years of watch history, playlists, comments, and subscriptions.
✔ My interactions with other creators, including comments that supported and
encouraged smaller music channels.
✔ My upcoming podcast and future creative projects.
✔ My primary source of connection and community support.
I also lost access to my other favorite channel on the same account; @SunsetPiano
For the past three years, I have dedicated myself full-time to this channel,
often spending 12+ hours a day crafting high-quality, genuine content.
Losing it without clear justification is not just unfair—it is devastating.
I humbly ask for reconsideration and a second chance to address any concerns. If specific content
was flagged, I am fully willing to remove or adjust it to comply with YouTube’s guidelines.
However, a complete removal without explanation contradicts YouTube’s mission to
foster creativity and community.
As someone who is severely disabled, living alone, and without close family, YouTube has been
my voice, my support system, and my way of leaving something meaningful behind.
If this issue is not resolved, I will have no choice but to pursue all available channels, including @TeamYouTube on social media and legal counsel if necessary.
I am committed to exhausting every option to recover my work.
I deeply appreciate your time and consideration.
I remain hopeful that YouTube, as a platform that values creativity, fairness, and
community, will take a second look at my case and restore my channel.
Sincerely,
David W. Coon

Dear YouTube Team,
I am writing to urgently request a fair and thorough review of my channel, Sunset Guitar🎸, which was recently removed for alleged violations of YouTube’s Spam, Deceptive Practices, and Scams Policy. I firmly believe this decision was made in error, as my content has never engaged in spam, deception, or any form of malicious activity.
I have been a dedicated YouTube user for 19 years and a creator for 2 years. My channel is a deeply personal and meaningful platform where I share my passion for music, breathtaking sunsets, videos of my dogs, oil paintings, science and philosophy, psychology and mental health care and more. It is not just a collection of videos—it is a reflection of my life, my creative work, and my connection to the world.
This channel is not just a collection of videos—it is digital legacy, and my connection to the world now and after I'm gone.
As a 100% disabled USMC Afghanistan veteran, this channel is far more than just a hobby. It has provided me with a sense of purpose, healing, and connection during some of the most difficult years of my life. Creating content on YouTube has been my way of staying engaged, inspired, and motivated. The community I have built through my channel has given me hope, belonging, and a sense of contribution.
I never intended to violate any of YouTube’s policies, and if there was a misunderstanding or an unintended violation, I would greatly appreciate guidance on how to correct any issues rather than losing everything I have worked so hard to create. My content has always been in full compliance with YouTube’s policies, and I have never engaged in deceptive or misleading practices.
Losing my channel is more than just losing videos—it is the loss of:
Over 1,600 videos—years of irreplaceable, heartfelt content.
Including private videos of my therapy sessions, my mental health treatment. I have a TBI (traumatic brain injury) and I need these videos to help me remember my treatment.
My watch history, all my countless comments, my playlists, and all of my subscriptions.
My watch history, almost 20 years of watch history and likes.
my comments, many of which have been favorited by creators. many comments on other small music channels to encourage them and to engage with them as part of my community.
my playlists, and all of my subscriptions.
My upcoming podcast and future projects.
My YouTube community, which has been my primary source of connection and support.
For the past three years, I have dedicated myself full-time to building this channel, often spending 12+ hours a day crafting genuine, high-quality content. To have all of this taken away without clear justification feels not only unfair but deeply devastating.
I humbly ask for reconsideration and a second chance to address any concerns YouTube may have about my channel. If specific content was flagged, I would be more than willing to remove or adjust it to comply with the guidelines. However, a complete removal of my channel, without a clear explanation or path to resolution, is deeply disheartening and contrary to YouTube’s mission of fostering creative expression.
As someone who is severely disabled, living alone, and without close family, YouTube has become my lifeline. It is my way of sharing my knowledge, my art, and my passion with the world. For the first time in my life, I felt safe to create a lasting public record of my experiences, preserving my skills and knowledge for future generations. To lose this channel is to lose a vital part of my identity and purpose.
If this issue is not resolved, I will be left with no choice but to continue seeking assistance through all available channels—whether that be escalating my case through reaching out to @TeamYouTube on social media, or seeking legal advice if necessary. I am committed to exhausting every option to recover the work I have poured my heart into.
I deeply appreciate your time and consideration. I remain hopeful that YouTube, as a platform that values creativity, community, and fairness, will take a second look at my case and restore my channel.
Sincerely,
David W. Coon
