The Injustice of Unclear Policies & Lost Access

In today’s digital age, I like many individuals rely on YouTube, and other online platforms for communication, entertainment, and even mental health support. 

However, when my access is suddenly revoked without clear reasoning, the consequences have been devastating. 

My recent experience with YouTube exemplifies how vague policies, and unresponsive systems, and unfair restrictions have negatively impacted my an an individual’s well-being.

A Critical Issue

For almost 3 months now, I have been struggling with the loss of access to my YouTube account. 

This situation is not just an inconvenience—it is critical to my health. 

As someone who depends on therapy sessions that I have privately stored on my own YouTube channel, this restriction has left me in a vulnerable position. 

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has already suffered significant setbacks because of this, just like the government’s decision to cut back on things like thesuicide hotlines, losing my privately record therapy sessions have only worsened the crisis. 

Now, the one resource I had—my past therapy videos, recorded  on my personal channel, are completely out of reach.

Financial and Emotional Toll

In addition to losing my personal therapy content, I have also been denied access to my premium account, for which I have already paid. 

@SunsetPiano, was also impacted, leaving me without a vital part of my online experience. 

Living alone makes this situation even more isolating. Online services can be addictive, but they also serve as an important connection to the world—especially when they provide meaningful content superior to other platforms such as TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, and Rumble.

Lack of Transparency and Support

One of the most frustrating aspects of this ordeal is the complete lack of clarity regarding what I did wrong. YouTube’s rules and policies remain vague, and I have received no explanation about the reason for my account restrictions. 

How can I correct an issue if I don’t even know what mistake I made in the first place? 

The absence of clear guidelines has left me feeling helpless and crushed as a member of the YouTube community.

Security Concerns and Fraud Risks

To make matters worse, instead of offering assistance, YouTube’s system appears to have exposed me to scammers. 

By reaching out for help, I unknowingly became a target for fraudulent activity. 

Rather than protecting users, the platform’s lack of accountability has made my experience even more distressing.

A Call for Justice

I have proof of the injustice I have faced, yet I still struggle to find meaning and purpose in this perplexing situation. 

What happens when a major corporation fails to provide the services people rely on? Who is held accountable when their vague policies harm real individuals? 

These are questions that need to be addressed—not just for me, but for anyone who depends on digital platforms for their livelihood, mental health, and well-being.

As I navigate this frustrating experience, I urge YouTube and similar companies to implement clearer policies, better customer support, and a more transparent appeals process. 

The digital world should be a place of support and connection, not confusion and despair. 

Until these issues are resolved, many users—like myself—will continue to struggle in silence.
