Outlined below are steps you will complete to get access to Connect Care
Scroll down this page for information that you will use to complete the following actions:
1. Complete Basic Training using independent online learning
2. Pass the appropriate Assessment to get Access to Connect Care:
Access is granted overnight after you pass the appropriate End User Proficiency Assessment (EUPA)
3. Attend an Instructor-Led Personalization session:
Register for a personalization session to make the system reflect your favourites, preferences, and shortcuts.
Basic Training - Independent Learning
The basic training course is delivered as a series of video modules that cover the same topics as the instructor led training. You can complete this training at your convenience.
The course you need to complete is titled Epic - CMIO Diagnostic Imaging - Independent Learning
This course should be listed in MyLearningLink under Required Courses, if required you can find and register for the course using these steps:
To register for this course on MyLearningLink:
Navigate to MyLearningLink with your AHS username and password
Use the Courses & Registrations link and search for "independent learning"
Click the course titled Epic - CMIO Diagnosic Imaging - Independent Learning
Register for the course
Accessing the training version of Connect Care
Navigate to https://myapps.albertahealthservices.ca, login with your AHS username, password, and RSA token
Open the Connect Care folder, then the Training folder, launch ACE5 or PLY
Login as NIR## (where ## is any number from 01 to 19)
Password: train
End User Proficiency Assessment (EUPA)
Before gaining access to Connect Care, all trainees must complete a short competency assessment, the End User Proficiency Assessment (EUPA). This is done after basic (in-person) training or Independent Learning.
The EUPA can be found in MyLearningLink, listed with Required Courses
Complete the appropriate EUPA
Non-Invasive Radiology titled Epic - CMIO Diagnostic Imaging Non-Invasive Radiologist (PACS-Driven) EUPA
Interventional Radiology Epic - CMIO Diagnostic Imaging Radiologist (PACS-Driven) EUPA
Access will be automatically granted (usually overnight) once you have passed the EUPA and completed On Our Best Behaviours privacy training.
When completing your EUPA it is recommended that you login to the Connect Care training environment.
Access
Access to the live patient care version of Connect Care is enabled overnight by automated systems after passing the EUPA and completing the mandatory AHS privacy training. Please allow time between completing your training and your first shift to ensure your access is in place.
AHS Privacy - On Our Best Behaviors
Everyone at AHS has to complete the mandatory Annual Continuing Education (ACE) Privacy and Information Security training module on MyLearningLink: InfoCare – On Our Best Behaviors. Your access to Connect Care will not be enabled without completing this course.
Complete the course by navigating to https://mylearninglink.albertahealthservices.ca
Look in “My Courses” or search by title and register to complete it.

For Diagnostic Imaging Workflow training session, please reach out to help.cmio@ahs.ca to be connected with a trainer for a dedicated training session.
If using a personal device and logging in remotely for the training session, kindly ensure you install Citrix on your computer, and your remote access is set up.

What Should I Do After Completing Basic Training?

To assist with your practice, you can access the exercise booklet linked below.
Practicing in the System: Play (PLY) Training Environment Access
For further exploration and practice, you can access the PLY environment for post-training practice. You will find PLY in your Connect Care training folder.
Use the login credentials outlined below. Your username will be letters specific to your track, followed by a two-digit number you can choose any number from 01 to 19 (note: ## indicates where the two-digit number between 01 and 19 goes, your username will not have a pound sign).
The PLY environment refreshes every 24 hours at 12 a.m. If it looks like someone has already interacted with a patient, feel free to use any other user login ID number from 01 to 19.
