Cardiology
Outlined below are steps you will complete to get access to Connect Care
Scroll down this page for information that you will use to complete the following actions:
1. Complete Basic Training using independent online learning
2. Pass the appropriate Assessment to get Access to Connect Care:
Access is granted overnight after you pass the appropriate End User Proficiency Assessment (EUPA)
3. Attend a Personalization session:
Register for a personalization session to make the system reflects your favourites, preferences, and shortcuts.
Cardiology training has two components, Basic training and Cardiology Resulting.
Cardiology Basic training is similar to other Inpatient Medicine specialties. There are Admission, Transfer, Discharge, Rounding and Consulting workflows. which covers the management patients that are admitted or seen in an outpatient clinic.
Cardiology Resulting for Echo, Stress tests, Holter, TEE, etc. is unique and requires the completion of specific training.
Cardiology Basic Training
The course you need to complete is titled Epic - CMIO Cardiology - Independent Learning
This course should be listed in MyLearningLink under Required Courses, if required you can find and register for the course using the course search function by clicking Courses & Registration left side of the screen.
End User Proficiency Assessment (EUPA)
Before gaining access to Connect Care, all trainees must complete a short competency assessment, the End User Proficiency Assessment (EUPA). This is done after basic (in-person) training.
The EUPA can be found in MyLearningLink, listed with Required Courses
Complete the EUPA titled Epic - CMIO Cardiologist EUPA
Access will be automatically granted (usually overnight) once you have passed the EUPA and completed On Our Best Behaviours privacy training
Cardiology Resulting
If you will be working in a setting that utilizes these tests make sure to complete that portion of the course.
If you do not work with resulting you can skip those modules.
The cardiology resulting course can be found in MyLearningLink, the title of the course is Epic - CMIO Cardiology Resulting - Independent Learning
If this course is not found in the Required Courses folder, you can find it using the search function by clicking Courses & Registration on the left side of the screen main MyLearningLink page.
Accessing the Connect Care training environment
Using two monitors, or large monitor with split screen, connect to the My Learning Link online module
In a separate window use a web browser to navigate to https://myapps.albertahealthservices.ca
Login using your AHS credentials and remote user access PIN
From the page that appears select Connect Care --> Training --> ACE5
ACE is a training version of the system
You can login to ACE using these training credentials
Login: CVMD## where ## is any two digit number from 01 to 19
Password: train
