Mystery Quilt 2023
Once upon a time,
In the middle of Colorado.
In the middle of Arvada.
Lives a cluster of beautiful Columbines.
For those Columbine Quilters who are new to the mystery quilt concept: Instructions come in your email without the Columbine quilter knowing the final layout until the last clue.
Ready for you when you are ready to sew. The clues will come between August 12th to September 16th. September 16th will be a Zoom meeting when we put our Mystery Quilts together. No worries, if you are on vacation, the clues will still come into your email.
All can join! We have permission for all Columbine Quilters to use this mystery pattern at no cost.
Based on known blocks, fun and easy for any Columbine Quilter.
This pattern lends itself to both traditional and modern fabric. (The designer created the design for a stash of fabric.) For more information, look to June’s newsletter. Fabric requirements will be in July’s newsletter and sent to members when registered.
The Mystery continues...
Listening to her beautiful Columbine Quilting friends, she decided to clarify a few Mystery Quilt questions.
Then she went up to her quilting room, giggling to herself. “Would her beautiful Columbine friends be able to guess the pattern?”
She looked out her window; each block had something to do with what she saw. Her quilting friends are very clever. They just might be able to guess…
The purpose of the Guild is to provide a warm, friendly atmosphere where all quilters, regardless of their interest or skill levels, are welcome. The Guild provides a full program of educational meetings and workshops to promote quilting and preserve the heritage of the art of quilting.
We are 36 years strong this year! Check out our birthday page!

What to do if there is a SNOW DAY on a Columbine Meeting Day?
We have a 3-prong plan:
Denver Church of Christ is in Jefferson County. We will follow the snow schedule for Jefferson County Public Schools. Watch the TV, listen to the radio, or check the internet to see if they are closed for our meeting date. If JCPS closes, the Columbine meeting at DCC will be canceled - BUT we will do a ZOOM so watch for the members email with that info.
If the snow or ice comes later in the day, the Board will send an eBlast by early afternoon to all members to cancel the meeting at the church. It will then be posted on our website on the HOME and CALENDAR pages. ZOOM information will be included in the eBlast if, and only if, we can rearrange the meeting to be hosted via ZOOM.
Rely on your intuition. If you have any concerns about driving on snowy or icy roads, get a cup of hot cocoa or wine and attend via ZOOM (if applicable). If the meeting is entirely canceled, grab a good book and cuddle up with a warm snuggly quilt for the evening!
