AccuQuilt System now Available for Loan!

Have you cut out a quilt with the AccuQuilt dies and Go! cutter machine yet?  If not, now is the time to try it out!  The guild has a library of dies in all shapes and sizes and has just acquired a Go! cutting machine.  Starting now, it is all available to be checked out by Columbine Quilt Guild members as a perk of membership.

A list of available dies in the guild’s library is attached as a PDF.  We have lots – but not all – of the dies available from AccuQuilt.  Also note that we own many applique dies that have coordinating embroidery files available for download from the AccuQuilt site!  For project inspiration, patterns, a gallery of quilts made using AccuQuilt, and other resources, visit www.AccuQuilt.com.

To reserve dies and/or and the cutter machine on a first-come, first-serve basis, send an email to tdcathey2@msn.com and be sure to indicate which dies you want (by item number AND product name) and whether you need the Go! cutter machine or not (some of you own the machine already).  Checkout is for a one-week period and may be renewed at the discretion of the committee, provided the items are not on reserve by another member.

ALSO – you must have a cutting mat of the appropriate size for the system to work; each die has a description that indicates the size mat needed for that particular die. The mats are designed to be used several times before they must be replaced when they show typical and expected wear.  We have a very limited number available, as listed in the library file, but once they are worn out it will be the responsibility of members to provide their own mat.  Remember, these are designed to take the wear and tear and be ultimately disposable, while the dies and cutter should last years and years if used as designed.

While you’re touring the AccuQuilt website, feel free to send us an email if you see something that we don’t own yet that you would like added to the guild’s wish list, and we may acquire it in the future.

NOTE: the guild is very fortunate to have these valuable AccuQuilt items, and although they are very expensive, we are going to allow members to check them out as a new perk of membership, much like a library book.  By checking out any AccuQuilt items, you agree to take care of them and abide by the product use guidelines that will be included as part of the loan process, and to return the items on time, in good shape, and in a manner that does not expose them to heat, cold, damage or theft.
