February SWEETHEART SEW-IN (ZOOM ONLY)
February is the month that, instead of meeting at the church, we gather on Zoom and together sew quilt tops for our Community Quilts outreach program. The Community Quilts Committee put together kits with fabric already cut and with instructions on how to complete the quilt top. These were distributed at the January meeting. If you did not pick up a kit at the meeting and would like to have one, please contact Annie Conry for those who may still want to get a kit. . Alternatively, you may use your own fabrics—the pattern is iat the left.
The Zoom meeting will begin at 6:30 PM on Monday, February 9th. Watch your email for a link to the meeting! We will be joined by our Mistress of Ceremonies, Debi Grundmeier, coming to us from her winter residence in Arizona. She will keep us entertained and on task!
Last year, through our Community Quilts program, CQG donated 247 quilts to our chosen charities! Please join us at the Sweetheart Sew-In to help replenish the inventory of quilts to be distributed throughout 2026.
We are excited to present our Give It A Try series again in 2026!
Our sign-up was a success. Soon, our 2026 classes will start!

Introducing Our 2026 Challenge
The focus of the 2026 Challenge is for you to increase your knowledge/proficiency on a new technique, tool, or method that you really want to complete a project. You may have taken a class but not taken the next steps to proficiency. You may even have started a project that languishes in your UFOs, awaiting your attention to take it to completion. Or be wild and crazy, and overcome your apprehensions to take a class or watch a YouTube video to complete that quilt project on your bucket list.
Please be clear: this is not a technique, tool, or method that you can perform in your sleep as of today.
You will have 11 months to complete this challenge.
Stretch yourself!
-If you need more information, don't hesitate to get in touch with one of the Sew Buddies Bee members.

What to do if there is a SNOW DAY on a Columbine Meeting Day?
We have a 3-prong plan:
Denver Church of Christ is in Jefferson County. We will follow the snow schedule for Jefferson County Public Schools. Watch the TV, listen to the radio, or check the internet to see if they are closed for our meeting date. If JCPS closes, the Columbine meeting at DCC will be canceled - BUT we will do a ZOOM so watch for the members email with that info.
If the snow or ice comes later in the day, the Board will send an eBlast by early afternoon to all members to cancel the meeting at the church. It will then be posted on our website on the HOME and CALENDAR pages. ZOOM information will be included in the eBlast if, and only if, we can rearrange the meeting to be hosted via ZOOM.
Rely on your intuition. If you have any concerns about driving on snowy or icy roads, get a cup of hot cocoa or wine and attend via ZOOM (if applicable). If the meeting is entirely canceled, grab a good book and cuddle up with a warm snuggly quilt for the evening!
