Introducing Columbine's Mentorship!
In an effort to expand our network and attract more people to our guild, we are going to start a new committee that offers mentorship. The idea is that you don't have to know how to quilt, but you have an interest in learning, or perhaps you have very basic sewing skills but aren't confident about how to begin a quilt project.
Through our mentoring committee, we will pair you with someone to teach you how to quilt, provide support and encouragement, and, at the same time, build a relationship with you and connect you with quilters through our guild. Our ultimate goal is to grow our guild membership by reaching out and connecting with a younger generation. Suppose you have an interest in being on this committee (for strategic planning) or in being a mentor.
Please reach out to Heather Wiebel at 720-357-7790 or wiebelheather9@gmail.com to let her know your interest. Thank you!
Introducing Our 2026 Challenge
The focus of the 2026 Challenge is for you to increase your knowledge/proficiency on a new technique, tool, or method that you really want to complete a project. You may have taken a class but not taken the next steps to proficiency. You may even have started a project that languishes in your UFOs, awaiting your attention to take it to completion. Or be wild and crazy, and overcome your apprehensions to take a class or watch a YouTube video to complete that quilt project on your bucket list.
Please be clear: this is not a technique, tool, or method that you can perform in your sleep as of today.
You will have 11 months to complete this challenge.
Stretch yourself!

What to do if there is a SNOW DAY on a Columbine Meeting Day?
We have a 3-prong plan:
Denver Church of Christ is in Jefferson County. We will follow the snow schedule for Jefferson County Public Schools. Watch the TV, listen to the radio, or check the internet to see if they are closed for our meeting date. If JCPS closes, the Columbine meeting at DCC will be canceled - BUT we will do a ZOOM so watch for the members email with that info.
If the snow or ice comes later in the day, the Board will send an eBlast by early afternoon to all members to cancel the meeting at the church. It will then be posted on our website on the HOME and CALENDAR pages. ZOOM information will be included in the eBlast if, and only if, we can rearrange the meeting to be hosted via ZOOM.
Rely on your intuition. If you have any concerns about driving on snowy or icy roads, get a cup of hot cocoa or wine and attend via ZOOM (if applicable). If the meeting is entirely canceled, grab a good book and cuddle up with a warm snuggly quilt for the evening!
